Disaster Response Center Hosts Annual Salvage Seminar

The week of November 3, 2014, the Gulf of Mexico Disaster Response Center (DRC) hosted the United States Coast Guard for their annual Salvage Seminar.

During this three-day event, participants learned about emergency lightering as well as salvage and marine firefighting. The DRC’s own Charlie Henry explained the NOAA product Remediation of Underwater Legacy Environmental Threats (RULET) and how it applies to salvage missions. There were about 50 participants in attendance from the Gulf Strike Team, Atlantic Strike Team, Pacific Strike Team, NOAA, and T&T Salvage.
