OR&R to Participate in Oil Spill Response Public Seminar in Utqiaġivk, Alaska

JULY 14, 2017--Catherine Berg, OR&R Scientific Support Coordinator in the region, will assist the U.S. Coast Guard and partner agencies at a three-day oil spill response seminar for North Slope residents in Utqiaġivk, Alaska, July 25-27.

Speakers at the seminar will discuss environmental law, Incident Command System, the science of oil spills, oil spill recovery on ice, alternative response technologies, oiled wildlife operations, historic site preservation, and international issues related to oil spills, local response teams and their resources.
The seminar will be held at the Barrow High School Auditorium July 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and an oil spill equipment deployment demonstration will be held near the Tank Farm July 27 from 9 a.m. to noon.
