Workshops

OR&R offers classes and workshops for emergency responders and planners in local, state, and federal governments as well as industry. For example, the three-and-a-half day Science of Oil Spills class focuses on the scientific basis for evaluating environmental risks during spills and making decisions to optimize ecological recovery.

In addition, OR&R offers short workshops (on an as-needed basis) on topics such as computer modeling, chemical dispersant use, or spill response techniques. Whether you deal with oil or chemical spills, you can find an offering that will better prepare you for the many challenges of spills.

Science of Oil Spills Classes

Science of Oil Spills (SOS) classes help spill responders increase their understanding of oil spill science when analyzing spills and making risk-based decisions. They are designed for new and mid-level spill responders.

CAMEO Training

Each year, thousands of first responders and emergency planners are trained to use programs in the CAMEO software suite in classes led by more than 100 CAMEO-certified instructors.

Science of Oil Spills Training Now Accepting Applications

We have scheduled our annual Science of Oil Spills class for June 25–28, 2013, in Seattle. We are now accepting applications through May 10.

These trainings help oil spill responders increase their understanding of oil spill science when analyzing spills and making risk-based decisions.
