Annual American Salvage Association Seminar at the Disaster Response Center

JULY 29, 2016--The Disaster Response Center (DRC) hosted the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and the American Salvage Association for their Annual Salvage Seminar. The three-day seminar was attended by approximately 45 people with representation from the Atlantic Strike Team, Gulf Strike Team, Pacific Strike Team, and T & T Salvage, to name a few. Throughout July 26-28, 2016, participants learned about topics such as salvage and marine firefighting regulations and integration, casualty assessment and survey, emergency lightering operations, as well as sinking, capsizing, and stranding. Experts in these fields explained best practices, case studies, and lessons learned which will help responders successfully complete their mission during a salvage operation.
