Five Years since the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill

APRIL 3, 2015--OR&R and the NOAA Restoration Center have been working together to highlight a collection of stories, images, and maps relating to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill that occurred on April 20, 2010.

The campaign describes the work NOAA scientists have done since then to assess the fish, wildlife, and habitat affected by the spill along the Gulf Coast, as well as reflects on the various challenges of that spill response and those that lie ahead.

Keep an eye on response.restoration.noaa.gov/deepwater-horizon-oil-spill, as well as Facebook and Twitter, for stories on the response, Natural Resource Damage Assessment science, and Gulf restoration efforts. Get the latest updates on the Natural Resource Damage Assessment from the Deepwater Horizon Trustee Council . New content will be added each week during the campaign, which began on March 30 and runs through the week of April 20.
