Gulf of Mexico Regional Collaboration Team

The NOAA Disaster Response Center hosted the Gulf of Mexico Regional Collaboration Team for their two day meeting on July 1-2, 2014.

In addition to the team members, other Disaster Response Center staff members attended the meeting to learn more about the team’s efforts throughout the region. During this meeting, the team discussed strategic planning, FY15 funding, and Gulf Coast Vulnerability Assessments.

The Gulf of Mexico Regional Collaboration Team serves one of the eight cross-NOAA regions that cover all of the United States and its territories. The aim of regional collaboration is to bring people across NOAA and key partners together to enhance communication, collaboration, integration, innovation, and engagement for the greater benefit of a given region. The Gulf Team connects the different major components of NOAA in the five Gulf States. It also advances collaboration between these NOAA offices and partners such as the regional Sea Grant institutions, the Northern Gulf Institute, the state-led Gulf of Mexico Alliance, and other federal or state agencies or entities, and advances communication with partners and stakeholders in the Gulf of Mexico region.
