Interagency Marine Debris Coordinating Committee Quarterly Meeting

DECEMBER 18.2015--The Interagency Marine Debris Coordinating Committee (IMDCC), chaired by the Director of the NOAA Marine Debris Program, held a quarterly meeting on December 3, 2015.

The purpose of the IMDCC quarterly meetings is to coordinate efforts across ten federal agencies as they work to address the issue of marine debris. In this meeting the IMDCC took a regional approach, bringing together regional agency staff in California with headquarters staff to focus on marine debris issues and efforts specific to the California region. The program presented current and on-going NOAA efforts in the region. Presentations also included marine debris activities from federal and state partners such, Navy, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, California.
