Marine Debris Program Co-chairs Session at 2016 Ocean Sciences Meeting

MARCH 4, 2016--The Marine Debris Program co-chaired a scientific session at this year's Ocean Sciences Meeting titled, "The Emerging Science of Marine Debris: From Assessment to Knowledge That Informs Solutions".


The meeting was held February 22-26 in New Orleans. The session included 15 oral and 17 poster presentations on topics ranging from microbial communities on plastic, waste management, marine debris wildlife impacts, climate change and derelict fishing gear to marine debris policy and education. Fellow co-chairs included Program partners from the University of Washington, University of Georgia, and the SEA Education Association.
