JUNE 16, 2017--The Marine Debris Program (MDP) Chief Scientist, Amy V. Uhrin, participated in the annual meeting of the European Commission's Technical Group for Marine Litter (TGML) held in Gdansk, Poland, June 8-9.

In addition to updates provided by European Union Member States, the group discussed ways in which to merge and analyze data from across the three Regional Seas Programmes relevant to the TGML. Amy provided a US perspective, by presenting on a recent collaborative effort between MDP and the Ocean Conservancy to analyze the MDP's Marine Debris Monitoring and Assessment Project dataset, which also spans a number of regions across the US with varying spatial and temporal coverage.
