Marine Plastic Waste and the Circular Economy: Building Long-term Solutions to Immediate Challenges

March 20, 2015--On March 18, 2015, the Marine Debris Program's Mid-Atlantic and Caribbean Regional Coordinator, Jason Rolfe, participated in Marine Plastic Waste and the Circular Economy: Building Long-term Solutions to Immediate Challenges.

The conference was headlined by Prince Charles who called for an end to dumping of plastic in the world's ocean. Participants included leaders from industry, government, and non-profit sectors to come up with steps that need to be taken in order to affect long-term change. The day-long event consisted of panel and roundtable sessions where participants discussed how to immediately address waste entering the marine environment.
