Oregon Marine Debris Action Planning Presentations

JUNE 17, 2016--This week, the NOAA Marine Debris Program's Pacific Northwest regional coordinator, Nir Barnea, joined Oregon Surfrider representative to update the Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council (OPAC) about the progress and current status of the Oregon Marine Debris Action Plan.

After the presentation, OPAC members discussed the plan, and the role that OPAC will play in moving the Plan forward. Additionally, Nir also joined Oregon Surfrider and Oregon State Land representatives to provide the Oregon State Land Board an overview of the Marine Debris Action Plan progress and current status. The Board expressed keen interest in the Plan, as well as support for the planning process and hopes for the plan’s success.
