OR&R Diversity Committee Drafts 2015-2017 Action Plan

JUNE 12, 2015--OR&R’s Diversity Committee met in Silver Spring at the beginning of June to chart its course for the next two years.

To kick off the two-day planning meeting, the committee heard from Michelle Crockett, Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity National Program Manager for the National Ocean Service (NOS) about ways in which the NOS diversity plan is a NOAA front-runner.

Over two days, committee members reviewed the committee’s activities from the previous two years and crafted a new action plan for 2015-2017, organized in alignment with the NOS diversity themes of Workplace Inclusion, Workforce Diversity, and Sustainability. Activities for the new plan take into consideration feedback received during the OR&R Diversity Survey conducted last month. Committee members hope to use these activities to better engage their OR&R colleagues on the topic of workplace diversity over the next two years.

The OR&R Diversity Committee will present its plan to the OR&R Management Team in July.
