OR&R Judges Shepherd Elementary School Science Fair

MARCH 3, 2017--Clouds in a bottle, mold on bread, geodesic domes, and of course, volcanoes!

These were just some of the strong science fair project subjects presented to NOAA judges by 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders from Shepherd Elementary School in Washington, DC. Judges put these young scientist through the ringer, looking for clear hypotheses, conclusions, and independent, dependent and control variables. Shepherd Elementary School has enjoyed a long standing partnership with NOAA, exposing local DC public school children to ocean science and mentoring opportunities. Children who scored well in the science fair on February 28 will go on to represent their school at the district level. Ed Levine and Kate Clark participated from OR&R. We wish them well!
