OR&R at the National Academy of Sciences

FEBRUARY 17, 2017--Ben Shorr, a physical scientist with OR&R’s Assessment and Restoration Division, participated in a 1.5 day workshop held by the Gulf Research Program within the National Academies off Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

The workshop on Tracking Community Resilience to Environmental Disasters brought together researchers and practitioners from across disciplines including human health, social sciences, and environmental assessment to address questions and opportunities with integrating data and science, and communicating results. Ben shared experience and approaches that OR&R has gained with data management, data integration and data sharing through the Deepwater Horizon Response and Natural Resource Damage Assessment - including building the DIVER data warehouse and query tools and using ERMA for sharing visualization and analysis.
