OR&R Scientists Volunteer for National Ocean Science Bowl

MARCH 4, 2016--Dr. Ken Finkelstein (Boston) and Troy Baker (Seattle) of OR&R's Assessment and Restoration Division recently volunteered to help implement the annual National Ocean Science Bowl .

High school science teams travel to more than 25 regional locations across the country to learn more about area universities and labs, become more familiar with ocean science and conservation, and, of course, go head-to-head with other area teams in a quiz bowl format. It's a tradition in Washington's ORCA Bowl for volunteer teams to wear homemade costumes, and this year Troy's team were anglerfish.
