OR&R Staff Receive NOAA Bronze Medal Awards

Several OR&R staff members have been recognized with the prestigious Bronze medal award! The Bronze medal is the highest award granted by the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere.

The Office of Response and Restoration’s (OR&R) Environmental Response Management Application (ERMA) Team received a 2015 NOAA bronze medal for delivering technology to improve NOAA’s Arctic preparedness and leading technology standardization and best-practices. While this honor is recognizes superior performance be Federal employees, this remarkable achievement could not have been accomplished without our highly skilled contract team. Congratulations to Amy Merten, Kari Sheets, Michele Jacobi, Chander Ganesan, Zach Winters-Staszak, and Robert St. Lawrence.

And Congratulations to Glen Watabayashi who received the Scientific Achievement Award for sustained exemplary performance in oil and chemical spill preparedness and response throughout more than three decades of service to NOAA and the Nation. Bushy has been part of the heart and soul of OR&R's Emergency Response Division and is highly deserving of this prestigious award.
