OR&R Staff Spotlight: Keith Cialino

Keith Cialino is the Northeast Regional Coordinator for the Marine Debris Program.

In this role, he has been establishing relationships with governmental, non-profit, and academic partners from Maine to Delaware. He also oversees removal and education grants in the region. Keith enjoys the variety of activities that his position offers, from visiting marine debris removal projects to classroom education activities to public outreach at various regional events.

Keith holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Environmental Science, and is currently completing a Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, focusing on water quality during storm events. In 2012, he served as the community outreach coordinator for the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management’s COASTSWEEP program, the annual state-wide component of the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup. He was a 2010 Knauss Marine Policy Fellow with NOAA Fisheries Office of International Affairs and a 2009 Rappaport Institute Public Policy Fellow. He also has experience teaching science in the Boston Public Schools and has previously worked on other local, state, and federal government projects. He currently lives in Cambridge, MA and enjoys live music, cooking, reading, and being outdoors.
