OR&R Staff Spotlight: Simeon Hahn

APRIL 7, 2017--Simeon Hahn is an environmental scientist and Regional Resource Coordinator (RRC) for the Mid-Atlantic Region and is located in Philadelphia, PA, at the EPA Regional office.

He is the NRDA Oil Spill Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic and also works on numerous Superfund sites performing assessments, remediation planning, natural resource damage assessments, and restoration. Simeon is a member of the NOAA North Atlantic Regional Team and is the NOAA contact for the Urban Water Federal Partnership and specifically the urban Delaware River site that includes Philadelphia; Chester, PA; Camden, NJ; and Wilmington, DE.

Simeon's work supports community urban river/estuary revitalization efforts in inner cities like Washington, Baltimore, Hampton Roads, Wilmington, and others. He has a passion for environmental justice and volunteers in Wilmington with the Chance Foundation working with youth on environmental and community issues while being a basketball coach. His daughter Adrianna, local Wilmington product, is currently a sophomore on the Villanova Women’s Basketball team. In addition, Simeon enjoys traveling the nation to visit National Parks and Estuarine Research Reserves/Sanctuaries having recently visited locations in Alaska, Montana, and Maine. Simeon is from Waynesboro, VA, in the Shenandoah Valley and currently resides in Wilmington DE.
