Senior Scientist Highlights Model Program at International Oil Spill Conference in Vietnam

MARCH 24, 2017--The Third International Conference on Environmental Pollution, Restoration and Management, held recently in Quy Nhon, Vietnam, featured OR&R's Senior Scientist, Dr. Lisa DiPinto, as a plenary speaker and participant.

Approximately 200 senior scientists, government leaders, including the Vietnamese Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (pictured), and media, attended the conference. Organized by the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) Asia Pacific, Loyola University, the Vietnam Environment Administration, and the Vietnam National University, the conference focused on emerging environmental pollution threats. Participants listened to a mix of discussions and presentations on scientific findings and environmental regulation and policy from the various countries represented.

Dr. DiPinto’s presentation highlighted the US model program for Natural Resource Damage Assessment and restoration for oil and chemical spills.
