Singaporean Delegation at State Department

OCTOBER 21, 2016--A delegation from Singapore are in the United States October 17-25 to learn about emergency preparedness and crisis management, involving environmental issues such as floods, typhoons, oil spills, and volcanic ash.

The delegation was in Washington, DC for meetings on October 17 and 18, then in New Orleans for meetings on October 20 and 21, then in Anchorage, AK, for meetings at the USGS Alaska Volcano Observatory.

EPA, the Coast Guard, and FEMA gave presentations on October 17 and 18. NOAA presented to the group on Monday, October 17, on the NRDA process, ERMA GIS, and NOAA’s scientific support coordinator role. OR&R’s Amy Merten and Jim Rosenberg represented NOAA at a briefing at the U.S. State Department.
