Storm Spotter Training at the Disaster Response Center
On October 14, 2014, the NOAA Disaster Response Center (DRC) hosted the annual SkyWarn Program Storm Spotter Training offered by the Mobile-Pensacola Weather Forecasting Office.
During this two hour class, the students learned about the:
- Basics of thunderstorm development
- Fundamentals of storm structure
- Ways to identify potential severe weather features
- Information report system
- Basic severe weather safety
This class will be held annually at the DRC as well as through other emergency management agencies.
