MAY 5, 2017--Within the framework of the 2017 Italian G7 Presidency, the Government of Italy hosted a Marine Litter Workshop.

The Marine Debris Program attended this workshop along with a representative from the EPA. The workshop addressed how G7 countries are implementing the Marine Litter Action Plan first developed in 2015 through the leadership of Germany. The participants also discussed how actions can be coordinated with the UN Regional Seas Programmes. The outcome of the workshop was a summary document that will be endorsed at the Environment Ministers' meeting in June.
