Talking Trash for Clean Oceans, or The Turtle Ate my Grocery Bag

FEBRUARY 26, 2016--Keith Cialino, the Northeast Regional Coordinator for the NOAA Marine Debris Program, spoke at an event hosted by Salem Sound Coastwatch in Marblehead, Massachusetts.


The event was titled "Talking Trash for Clean Oceans, or The Turtle Ate my Grocery Bag" and was held at the Marblehead Public Library. The event was part of Salem Sound Coastwatch 's “Underwater in Salem Sound” lecture series. An audience of 80 people listened to presentations from the NOAA Marine Debris Program and Salem Sound Coastwatch on marine debris in the Northeast and more specifically in the coastal communities north of Boston. High school students working with Salem Sound Coastwatch also presented ideas that they will be working on during the spring semester to educate Salem residents about marine debris.
