This is the 10th year the NOAA Marine Debris Program has supported the International Coastal Cleanup. The Coastal Cleanup is part of an international effort to remove marine debris from coastal waters.

The International Coastal Cleanup is the largest single-day volunteer event for the marine environment. The Alabama Coastal Cleanup was held on September 19, 2015. This year there were 12 cleanup locations in Mobile County and 17 in Baldwin County. Members of the Disaster Response Center participated in the Mobile area as well as in Daphne, Alabama. Visit the Alabama Coastal Cleanup site for more information about the annual event.
