FEMA Gives Mission Assignment for Henri to New England Regional Preparedness Coordinator

AUGUST 30, 2021 ─ Prior to Tropical Storm/Hurricane Henri making landfall on August 22, 2021, FEMA gave a mission assignment to William Whitmore, the Disaster Preparedness Program’s Regional Preparedness Coordinator based out of Gloucester, Massachsetts.

Serving as a Coastal Advisor under Emergency Support Function (ESF) 5, Whitmore remained on call to provide virtual assistance to FEMA if requested.

Before and after the storm, Whitmore also shared various NOS tools and products with FEMA, the U.S. Coast Guard, and state emergency management agencies. Positive feedback was received on the Coastal Inundation Dashboard and the Environmental Response Management Application (ERMA).
