She is majoring in environmental science and physical geography as a junior at University of South Carolina, while working for the South Carolina State Climatology Office. She recently helped to create "Tropical Cyclone Florence in South Carolina" an ArcGIS Story Map. Leah's project for OR&R this summer will focus on disaster recovery as it applies to ecosystems from disaster-related contamination. She is also excited by the opportunity to create more Story Maps and infographics for OR&R during her time here.

While at OR&R, Dr. Amy Merten will be her sponsor. Given Leah's background, as well as her experience in GIS and emergency response, OR&R looks forward to having her work in OR&R this summer. Leah is grateful to her professors for making her aware of the scholarship established by the late Senator Fritz Hollings.
