NOAA OR&R was integral in the planning for and execution of the workshop. OR&R Director Scott Lundgren provided remarks and Lisa DiPinto, OR&R’s senior scientist, presented on four research projects funded by the NCOE. George Graettinger presented on enhanced capabilities of the Environmental Response Management Application (ERMA®) and Nicolle Rutherford provided an overview of the updates to the Environmental Sensitivity Index maps and data in the Great Lakes. Lieutenant Commander Rachel Pryor facilitated a panel discussion about aerial systems deployed during responses that have met with challenges related to data collection and data sharing.

The workshop successfully fostered new relationships and expanded existing partnerships between scientific experts in the Great Lakes.
