Following a parade, the family-friendly event celebrated humpback whales and brought organizations together to share educational displays and activities around ocean conservation. Several NOAA line offices participated in the event under a “One NOAA” tent that included Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, NOAA Fisheries Pacific Islands Regional Office, Office of Law Enforcement, and the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center. Together, the tent engaged families in hands-on activities around marine debris, fins, and humpback whales.

The annual event was presented by Pacific Whale Foundation, Whale Trust, Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, and The Hawai‘i State Department of Land & Natural Resources Division of Aquatic Resources.
