Marine Debris Program Participates in Department of Energy Coordination Call
AUGUST 3, 2020 — On July 22, 2020, Nancy Wallace, Director of the Marine Debris Program (MDP), joined the Department of Energy (DOE) Plastics Upcycling coordination call to present on the activities of the MDP.
Coordinated by the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, the DOE Plastics Upcycling coordination call brings together experts from multiple DOE offices and programs. During the call, Nancy discussed the MDP’s priorities and answered questions about ocean plastic collection, the Fishing for Energy program, and other areas of interest to the attendees.
The MDP has previously shared information on research priorities with DOE through the Interagency Marine Debris Coordinating Committee, and this was an opportunity to continue developing interagency information sharing and collaboration.
