Marine Debris Program Participates in Norwegian Seminar on Marine Plastic Pollution
OCTOBER 19, 2018 — On October 11, the Marine Debris Program’s Director, Nancy Wallace, joined a panel conversation on how to strengthen efforts to stop marine debris.
Hosted by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in cooperation with the Ocean Conservancy, the panel included perspectives from Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Circulate Capital, TOMRA, NOAA’s Marine Debris Program, and the Pew Charitable Trusts. Nancy spoke about the Marine Debris Program’s mission, emphasis on prevention, and continued commitment to both domestic and international collaborations. Nancy, along with other panelists, fielded thoughtful questions on how to best prevent marine debris across the globe and emphasized the need for a range of solutions tailored to local needs and conditions.
