Marine Debris Program Presents to University of Hawaii at Hilo Marine Debris Course
February 1, 2021 — On January 20, the NOAA Marine Debris Program’s (MDP) Pacific Island Regional Coordinator, Mark Manuel, provided a virtual presentation to the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo (UH-Hilo) Marine Debris in the Pacific senior-undergraduate course.
Mark provided a general overview of the MDP and current Pacific Islands based prevention, removal, and research projects supported by the program. As an UH-Hilo alumni, Mark provided students with his career path as an undergraduate within the Marine Science Department to addressing the impacts of marine debris throughout the Pacific Islands Region.
