Marine Debris Program Presents at Virtual Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific Naturalist Program Meeting

APRIL 18, 2022 — On April 6, Christy Kehoe, the California Regional Coordinator for the NOAA Marine Debris Program (MDP) and California Sea Grant Extension Fellow, Tanya Torres, presented at the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific’s April 2022 Naturalist Program Meeting.

The event was attended by aquarium staff and volunteers interested in learning about and protecting the environment.

The Aquarium of the Pacific’s Naturalist Program includes a number of individual projects that encourage people to explore the world around them and document observations of living species to share with the scientific community and fellow citizen scientists.

Christy and Tanya met with the Aquarium’s Naturalist Program volunteers to discuss the topic of marine debris and the MDP’s efforts to prevent, remove, monitor, and research it, and attendees learned about available NOAA resources. The meeting was recorded so the presentation can be shared with the larger Aquarium of the Pacific community as well.
