NOAA Marine Debris Program Meets with Alaska Delegation in Anchorage
AUGUST 18, 2017--The NOAA Marine Debris Program (MDP) Director, Nancy Wallace, and Alaska Regional Coordinator, Peter Murphy, met with staff from Senator Lisa Murkowski and Representative Don Young’s Anchorage offices on August 15.
They also had the opportunity that same day to sit down with Senator Dan Sullivan, who is the sponsor of the Save Our Seas Act of 2017 that just passed the Senate on August 3rd. Nancy and Peter shared with the Senator the past and current MDP efforts in Alaska, as well as heard about the marine debris issue from other local stakeholders that attended the meeting.
