NOVEMBER 17, 2017 — On November 16, OR&R's Kevin Kirsch and Michel Gielazyn participated in the Great American Teach-In at Douglas L. Jamerson Jr. Elementary School in St. Petersburg, Florida.

They gave an interactive presentation to 92 children from four fifth grade classes. The presentation introduced the students to NOAA, what NOAA does, and the problems of marine pollution. They assisted the students in applying the scientific method to determine if adverse impacts to marine organisms occurred after exposure to oil from an oil spill.
