OR&R Partners with the NOAA Office of International Affairs and NESDIS to Discuss Preparedness and Response with Foreign Nationals
FEBRUARY 10, 2020 — On February 5, Ian Zelo, joined Dann Karlson from NOAA’s Office of International Affairs and Jessica Levine from the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction to discuss preparedness and response with a group of international partners participating in the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
Our visitors were emergency managers and disaster preparedness specialists from 25 countries who are here in the U.S. this month to learn how agencies at the federal, state, and local level support disaster risk reduction and response efforts. State Department was especially keen on setting aside time for them to meet with NOAA and OR&R in particular. We introduced the group the NOAA and then addressed the specific preparedness and response functions of OR&R and NESDIS’s Satellite Analysis Branch.
