OCTOBER 14, 2019 — On October 1, 2019, OR&R Emergency Response Chief Scott Lundgren and OR&R Senior Scientist Lisa DiPinto met with representatives of ITOPF (formerly the International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation) at its headquarters in London.

ITOPF is a not-for-profit organization that provides technical services to promote effective marine spill response to its tanker owner members, ship owner associates, or to oil pollution insurers. Because of the technical focus of ITOPF there are a number of areas of common interest given OR&R’s oil and chemical response and restoration focus.

The discussion afforded information sharing related to spill countermeasures, areas of research and methods development, modeling, and international scientific assistance.
