SOS Class at the Disaster Response Center

This week NOAA's Disaster Response Center hosted more than 40 state and federal responders for the Emergency Response Division's Science of Oil Spills class.

Drawing on oil chemistry, toxicology, oceanography and more, students learned directly from ERD experts to use science and OR&R products to inform spill response. With most attendees coming from the Gulf of Mexico, the entire class was able to investigate issues unique to the region, including a field trip to Dauphin Island.
