Weekly Lecture Series “You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know”

MAY 11, 2020 — The Office of Response and Restoration has rolled out a weekly lecture series called, “You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know.”  Every Thursday at 3:00 PM ET, an expert presents on a topic related to emergency response or environmental protection.

Topics will range from booms to birds, burning to bacteria, satellites to submarines.  The goal of the series is to provide a larger, more diverse audience to presentations and lectures recently given at meetings or conferences.  While the series is barely off the ground, the April 30th lecture, our first, “Satellite Detection of Oil Slicks: A New Science, A New Skill, A New Tool” by Ellen Ramirez of NESDIS, drew almost 300 attendees and we have speakers scheduled into mid-July.

View the list of upcoming lectures, and contact OR&R Senior Scientific Support Coordinator Steve Lehmann (Steve.Lehmann@noaa.gov) with questions—or better yet, lecture suggestions!

Please join us each Thursday from 3 - 4 pm ET at https://noaaorr.adobeconnect.com/orrlectureseries/
