NOAA-specific ICS-300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents - Mobile, Alabama

Tuesday, June 4, 2024 to Thursday, June 6, 2024

NOTE: This course is open to NOAA staff (FTEs and contractors) only.

The Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) Disaster Preparedness Program (DPP) is offering a NOAA-specific ICS-300 class from June 4-6, 2024 (Tuesday-Thursday) at the NOAA Gulf of Mexico Disaster Response Center in Mobile, Alabama.

This training will cover classic Incident Command System (ICS) principles to ensure NOAA staff understand the language of the National Incident Management System and Incident Command System. Familiarity with this terminology is vital when working on an incident response with federal, state, and local governments, as well as partner agencies. Students will also learn about the NOAA All Hazards Incident Management Concept of Operations plan, and how different NOAA line offices respond.

Students will participate in a hands-on learning environment through a series of role playing activities designed to mimic the expansion of an incident response. Roles throughout the simulated response begin at the local level and progress to the level of a NOAA Incident Management Team reporting to senior leadership.

Questions: Please contact the OR&R Training Team.
