Arctic-Related Incidents of National Significance Workshop in Anchorage

JUNE 23, 2016--During the week of June 20, OR&R’s Spatial Data Branch participated in the 2016 Arctic-Related Incidents of National Significance (IoNS) Workshop in Anchorage, Alaska.

The theme of this workshop was focused on research to address maritime mass rescue operations.
The workshops are 2-day events sponsored by the Arctic Domain Awareness Center (ADAC) and are designed to present current research work related to significant incidents in the Arctic, determine research and technology gaps, and discern appropriate research questions. Robb Wright presented on operational planning and current applications of Arctic ERMA®. Following the IoNS workshop, a third day was dedicated to discussing the ADAC’s Arctic Information Fusion Capability (AIFC), which will bring multiple information sources together to gain domain awareness in support of operational decision making and responders in the field.
