Monitoring for Marine Debris in Delaware and Maryland

AUGUST 19, 2016--On August 16 and August 17, three NOAA Marine Debris Program team members (Amy Uhrin, Chief Scientist; Carlie Herring, Research Coordinator; and Jason Rolfe, Mid-Atlantic Regional Coordinator) conducted shoreline marine debris monitoring at seven beach sites along the Delaware and Maryland coastline.

This marine debris monitoring is part of a larger nation-wide effort.

Monitoring shorelines can help answer important questions about the composition, distribution, abundance, and sources of marine debris. To learn more about shoreline marine debris monitoring check out the Marine Debris Monitoring and Assessment Project “Get Started Toolbox.”
