“SCAT for Tomorrow” at the Disaster Response Center

JANUARY 13, 2017--Next week NOAA's Disaster Response Center will host the Coastal Response Research Center (CRRC) as they present a workshop called "SCAT for Tomorrow".

SCAT, or Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Technique is a systematic method for surveying an affected shoreline after an oil spill. The workshop will include over 50 invited participants from around the world as well as representatives from NOAA, USCG, EPA, several States and industry. The participants will be seeking to develop a consensus on data standards for shoreline oiling that will spur the development of advanced inter-operable data collection and management tools for oil spill response.
