Her statement is below:

“For those that missed it, during Wednesday's all-hands meeting I announced that Kate Wheelock (formerly Clark) has been selected as the Disaster Preparedness Program (DPP) Chief. Kate will officially start in the role on February 17, 2019. Kate brings more than 17 years of emergency response, preparedness, and damage assessment experience. Kate has done a phenomenal job as the Acting DPP Chief and I know she will bring her leadership, enthusiasm, diligence, collaboration, and innovation into this new role. Kate is well respected within OR&R and by NOS and NOAA senior leadership. I am fortunate that she wanted to take on a greater responsibility and I look forward to Kate's leadership and guidance as we move forward together, continuing on the successful path that has already been set.”
