FY 2022 Lagniappe Awards Selected

Jan. 24, 2022 – The Disaster Preparedness Program (DPP) has selected nine projects submitted by the National Ocean Service (NOS) programs for funding as part of the “Lagniappe Awards.”

Lagniappe is a term (often used in Louisiana) which means “a little something extra,” and this annual opportunity provides funding to NOS to advance the preparedness of NOS and our partners. This is the third year that DPP has solicited proposals, and the funded projects cover a wide range of issues from the purchase of disaster preparedness kits for staff in the Pacific to development of an image slider that will show before and after images of disaster impacts in the Environmental Response Management Application (ERMA)

The Lagniappe Awards have enhanced partnerships within NOS and enabled the DPP to promote readiness culture within our programs.
