Mississippi Teachers Learn about Marine Debris Issues and Solutions

JULY 25, 2022 — On July 13, 2022, the NOAA Marine Debris Program’s Gulf of Mexico Regional Coordinator Caitlin Wessel presented at the Jackson County Soil and Water Conservation District’s teacher workshop.

Caitlin joined a team from the Mississippi Coastal Cleanup to educate 25 teachers from all grade levels about marine debris issues impacting the Gulf Coast and the Mississippi Coast. The teachers gained ideas and materials for activities and lessons they can take back to their classrooms this fall.
