International Coastal Cleanup Celebrates 30 Years of Cleaning Coasts

SEPEMBER 25, 2015—September 19,2015 marked the thirtieth celebration and annual International Coastal Cleanup. The NOAA Marine Debris Program (MDP) is a proud sponsor of the effort.

NOAA staff came out in full force participating in cleanups across the country including: Magge Marsh in Ohio, May Day Park in Daphne, Alabama, Yuba River in California, Waikiki in Hawaii, and at the Anacostia State Park in the nation’s capital. From tiny beads of plastics to large wood pallets, volunteers removed trash of all shapes and sizes. Thank you to all volunteers who came out on Saturday to clean up our Great Lakes and oceans!
