Hanford Case Team Presents Technical Path Forward to Restoration

AUGUST 18, 2017--In a special session this week with three Tribes, two states, and two federal partners, the NOAA Hanford case team will share how current knowledge of aquatic injuries at the Hanford Nuclear Site relate to restoration planning.

Other Trustees also will share their expectations for how the NRDA process can pivot to restoration. In FY17, NOAA has been the Chair of the Hanford Natural Resource Trustee Council and, on the behalf of all Trustees, agency representatives are leading more than $1M in NRDA studies expected to be complete by next year. During the meeting, NOAA will use new case outreach graphics developed by Office of Response and Restoration and case team staff and present the schedule for upcoming Chinook salmon population modeling with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
