OR&R’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee Presents “Harassment in the Workplace”
APRIL 6, 2018 — On March 29, Rachel Fox and Vicki Loe of OR&R’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee presented “Harassment in the Workplace.”
Starting with a short, humorous video clip on office culture in the sixties, the presentation moved on to cover common forms of harassment found in today’s office culture and attempted to differentiate sexual from non-sexual forms of harassment, both types harming victims as well as causing negative impacts on the rest of the employees. Resources on NOAA’s policies concerning harassment were made available to staff. A lively discussion of the issue was held following the approximately 30-minute presentation. More than 35 OR&R participants called into the webcast from Seattle, Silver Spring, and several field offices.
