OR&R Talks NOS Hurricane Efforts at the NOAA Open House

FEBRUARY 16, 2018 — Hurricanes! In the wake of last fall's damaging hurricane season, NOAA panelists from across the agency explained NOAA's role is hurricane preparedness, response, and recovery at the February 10 NOAA Open House.

The Open House panel attracted hurricane enthusiasts of all ages. Panelists included: Ed Rappaport, Acting Director, National Hurricane Center; Shirley Murillo, Deputy Director, NOAA’s Hurricane Research Division; Commander Scott Price, Hurricane Aircraft Commander, NOAA Aircraft Operations Center; Tim Walsh, Acting GOES-R System Program Director, NOAA Satellite and Information Service; and Kate Wheelock, Acting Chief, Disaster Preparedness Program, NOAA’s Office of Response and Restoration.
