OR&R Travels to the North Slope
On June 17-19, 2014, a team of OR&R staff traveled to Deadhorse, Alaska, to participate in a North Slope orientation visit and tour of Alaska Clean Seas facilities.
Alaska Clean Seas is the primary Oil Spill Response Organization (OSRO) for the North Slope of Alaska, including the Outer Continental Shelf in the Alaskan Arctic. ACS is a full service response cooperative, posed to respond to spills from onshore and offshore exploration, production, and transportation facilities in that region of Alaska including the TransAlaska Pipeline from Pump Station One in Prudhoe Bay, to milepost 167. ACS member companies include all of the companies that drill, explore, produce, or transport oil or gas in the region. NOAA staff also met with Alyeska, the operator of the pipeline.
